VFD Radio Grant Application

The SRS requires VFDs to attend one of the Train the Trainer Sessions for the SRS VFD Radio Grant. These sessions provide individuals from your departments with essential information for operating and maintaining the equipment provided by the grant and will equip those individuals to train others in your department.

The only limit on class size is the capacity limit for the location. As these sessions will train individuals who can then train their respective VFDs, attendance is suggested to be 4 or fewer participants per department to ensure more fire departments can attend each session. A VFD may attend more than one session as space allows.

While training sessions may focus on Kenwood or Motorola products, the overall session will cover materials that apply to both manufacturers.

Radio kits ordered with cases will be delivered during the training sessions. Kenwood training sessions and equipment deliveries are expected to begin by February 15th, 2024. Motorola training sessions and equipment deliveries are expected to begin by April 6th, 2024. These dates are due to the expected timeline of the manufacturers' fulfillment of equipment orders. Those attending on-site training will be prioritized for receiving the radio kits.

The listed training sessions in February 2024 will only distribute Kenwood equipment.
